Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief God'swill Obot Akpabio declares his presidential bid today, Wednesday, 4th May, 2022.


The Former Akwa Ibom State Governor's Presidential declaration event is currently taking place in Ikot Ekpene stadium.

The Minority Leader of the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was appointed the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs in 2019 by President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), after failing to secure a second term in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.

Fondly called the "Uncommon Transformer", Akpabio enjoys huge following across political lines in the state as testified by the mammoth crowd currently being witnessed this afternoon at the declaration rally.

He will be contesting the number one top seat under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), and is the second person from the state to declare for the Presidency following the declaration of his successor and the present Governor of the State, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
